Elder Nomination

The Session is accepting nominations for the office of Ruling Elder during the month of May.

Before proceeding, please review the following posts from Pastor Kyle.

Who is eligible to nominate a man for the office of Ruling Elder?

All communing members of Christ Presbyterian Church.

What men are eligible to be nominated for the Office of Ruling Elder?

Candidates for the office must meet the following qualifications:

• be communing members in good standing of Christ Presbyterian Church for at least one year;
• willing to spend any necessary time in training for and performing the duties of the office;
• have tangibly demonstrated the character, knowledge, and gifts that the Scriptures set forth as necessary for the office;
• must agree with the general system of doctrine as contained in the Westminster Standards and be generally supportive of the ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church.

How Do I Nominate Someone for the Office of Ruling Elder?

• Prayerfully review the qualifications for Ruling Elder in Scripture (esp. 1 Tim 3:2–7; Tit 1:6–9).
• Prayerfully consider which men have continually and tangibly demonstrated these characteristics at CPC.
• Request permission from anyone you are considering nominating.
• Complete the form below or submit a paper form on the back round tables at church.
