Audio Lent Guide

Lent is an ancient liturgical season meant for reflection and repentance. In the 40 days leading up to Easter, Lent invites us to follow Jesus to the cross. Click HERE for an in-depth explanation of Lent.

We have put together an Audio Lent Guide with reflective Scripture readings and prayer. Use it on your commute, while you’re making coffee, or at the gym. It’s a helpful way to connect with God and bring your whole life to him in prayer.

Reflective Prayer

Think back through the past 24 hours. How have you failed to love God or your neighbor? Think about the words you said or should have said, the things you did or didn’t do, the thoughts of your mind and the longings of your heart, and bring them to God in prayer.

Take a moment and think through any negative emotions you experienced in the past day. Were there times when you were angry, sad, frustrated, bored, lonely, or scared? Bring those moments to God in prayer. If there is anything that needs to be grieved or lamented do that at this time.

As you reflect on the past day, let your mind go to any moments of joy, wonder, thankfulness, happiness, provision, or contentment. Spend a moment thanking God for his goodness and celebrating his grace. Praise him for all that he is and all that he has done.

Now, think ahead to the next 24 hours. What are your hopes? What are your fears? What are your needs? Ask your Father for help and depend on him to give you all that you need.
