Why Should I Develop a Personal Relationship With God?
We should develop a relationship with God for two reasons: First, because a God worthy of our worship actually exists. And second, because we were made to be in relationship with God. Our need for Him inevitably manifests itself in our lives.
Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger; well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim; well, there is such a thing as water. Men feel sexual desire; well, there is such a thing as sex. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not mean that the universe is a fraud. Probably earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing.
– C.S. Lewis
"I want to know Christ..."
Philippians 3:10
How Can I Develop a Relationship With God?
You need to recognize that...
A personal relationship with God is offered through Jesus Christ, and is not earned by anything that we do.
People are imperfect and inconsistent (sinful) and are thus incapable of developing a personal relationship with God because...
God is not only merciful and loving. He is also holy and just and therefore must punish sin.
Fully God and fully man, Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again from the dead to pay the penalty for the sins of those who trust in Him.
Trusting in Jesus Christ alone is the means by which one begins and develops a personal relationship with God.
"Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
– Romans 5:7-8
What Are Your Connections? What Do You Stand For?
Christ Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. We are relatively new and one of the fastest growing denominations in America. We believe the Bible is the Word of God, without error, and thus a reliable guide for faith and life. We are committed to the creeds of the Church (eg., the Apostles and the Nicene Creeds), and to historic Presbyterianism as it is explained in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

Why Should I Get Involved With a Church?
To develop healthy, encouraging and lasting relationships with other people.
To give your children positive and solid spiritual training in a caring atmosphere.

And, most importantly,
To develop a personal relationship with God.
