Project Chile 2012
Tom Beveridge, Isabel Beveridge, Richard Jacobsen, and Sam Tanksley will be part of a construction/community outreach team from CPC to Quillota, Chile from March 7th-24th. Two other teams from PCA congregations in Philadelphia and Virginia will be working there too, one before and one after our team. The teams are returning to Quillota in order to complete Renacer (rebirth in Spanish), a vitally important and strategically placed facility ministering to at risk children and families in one of the poorest sections of this beautiful city. In 2006 and 2007 teams from PCA congregations constructed a meeting space, classrooms, and office space. This year teams will construct a dining facility, restrooms and a kitchen.

Within
Within the congregation, the deacons labor as match-makers, matching the resources and gifts in our congregation with various needs. They often work behind the scenes, confidentially helping our members with their social, emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual needs during times of crisis. While much of their time is spent in prayer with and for members, building relationships with them, encouraging and counseling them with budget and basic life skills, they also offer practical help. This help has included financial assistance for rent, food, utilities, counseling and medical assistance, and other expenses, all made possible by your contributions to the Deacon Fund—a fund separate from our operating budget and going directly to assist the needs of members in our congregation. If you have a need please contact our deacons directly. If you want to give, please place your contribution in the offering on Sunday made out to Christ Presbyterian Church, with "Deacon's Fund" in the memo.

The deacons' ministry also extends beyond the boundaries of our local church, as they provide support for city-wide, national and international mercy ministry projects in the name of Christ. Some recent instances include: Haiti, Hogar de Providencia, tornado devastation aid, Chile temblor aid, and the tsunami in Japan.
